Hi BBdoll,
I do one of two things when I have a glitched Sim.
1. I use the batbox (it's black with a yellow bat silhouette on the top) or the lot debugger formally know as ffsdebugger. It has several options and I think I downloaded it from MTS or Mod the Sims. Using this helps to clean up the bugs as I play. The option I use most often is the "memory" and then delete all the options that show up under it. (It cleans up the little file pieces left over as a result of Sim interactions) and helps the game run smoother.
2. However, even with the batbox or lot debugger, I still get glitched Sims. This happens mostly with infants and nannies and/or butlers in my game. The infants just lie on the floor or in the crib and no one can interact with them and the thumbnail gets yellower and yellower and starts to turn orange and the latter two just stand around and do nothing. On occasion, I've also had to do this with other family member. Then, I have to take a leap of faith and do the following. I put
moveObjects on in the cheat box. Then I go into
buy mode (I haven't tried it but build mode might work as well). In
buy mode, I delete the non-responsive Sim (family member or NPC). Next I exit the lot. Then I go back into the lot and the Sim (including the infant) are by the mailbox and they work just fine. Don't forget to turn the
moveObjects cheat to off. I've heard that keeping it on can glitch your game. Sometimes it's the crib that gets glitched with infants, so I remove the infant from the crib (via the
moveObjects cheat) and delete the crib and buy a new one-but if that doesn't work, then I follow the above procedure. When this happens there doesn't seem to be anything that I'm doing that causes it.
I hope that this helps. I'm not a real technical expert but this helps my game.
