hey,
so recently I had a problem of the pleasants being stuck in bed. it was annoying--- and it took lots of game reloading. so my problem is that people suggested I use the MoveObjects on cheat and it kept saying that it's not working? everytime I typed it, the cheat menu was saying error--- however I didn't try the reset sim option either but I didn't know how to type it--- could that have been the problem?

The reset cheat they are talking about is a boolprop cheat.

1. Before you enter your lot, open the cheat box - ctrl + c. Note: If you are already in your lot, you can still type in the cheat, but you will need to save your lot, exit and reenter for it to take effect.

2. Enter  boolprop testingcheatsenabled true exactly like this in the cheat box.

3. Shift+click on the sim  and select Force Error from the menu.

4. Select Reset. Do not select delete as this will permanently delete your sim and mess up your game.

It doesn't work sometimes and sometimes it can make things worse, that's why I just use moveobjects on delete the offending sim and/or object, save. Exit and reenter the lot. The sim will be standing by the mailbox unscathed and it doesn't mess up your game like the boolprop reset can. It's safer and results are 100% every time.
