hello2 My Simmie Friends! The weekend is about to begin. I was reading over some stories, comments, questions, and answers, and have come to realize, I don't really know many of the players as I would like to know them. Each time I read something it's fascinating how much knowledge and experience various ones have of this game we play each day.

When you get time, I would heartpump to get to know each of you better, by answering the following questions. If and when you find the time. I'll begin, and my answers will be in Green.

lucky lucky lucky lucky

1. How were you introduced to the Sims Game Family?
  • Over heard a conversation at work between co-workers.

2. How long have you played the Sims2, or games prior which lead up to the present?
  • I've been playing for a little over 2 yrs. (Sept 2010)

3. Which do you enjoy more, (Playing, Building, Creating, Writing)?
  • I enjoy Building houses and Creating characters

4. Which is your Favorite Hood?
  • My Fav Hood is Belladonna Cove and Pleasantview

5. What is your Favorite Sims Character?
  • I enjoy the Plant Sims. Less work and they are smart and easy to work with. Just really started playing my game.

6. Which is your Favorite Game Ep or Sp and why?
  • Season's - Enjoy the diff seasons. It brings my game to life it seems.

7. What is your average game play in a week (just a guess)? lol1
  • When I first started, it used to be 8-9 hrs a day. Now it's about 5 or 6. I'm on TSSF a lot now.

8. To really enjoy the game, which comp would you recommend best to play the game on?
  • I have a Desktop. Have not played on a Laptop.

9. How many peeps (family and/or friends), have you turned on to the Sims Games?
  • Mostly family - about 6.

10. What part of the game do you not enjoy?
  • The interactions between the simmies. Watching them grow to Adult and how they look at each other.

11. Have you ever lost your games/hoods/simmies, to the dreaded 'V'? If so how many times?
  • Yes! crying Once on my new comp, and 3 times crying on my husband's comp!

12. What did you learn from past experiences in your game play?
  • To Backup my games. Keep notes of issues I've had and document how I resolved them.

13. What is it about this Forum (TSSF), that you like better than others you have been members of?
  • I enjoy the interactions with everyone. People are so friendly here, and willing to help and give good advice. I heartpump how someone is always here to help with a problem. If I have an issue with my game, I can depend on getting a good answer here. I enjoy the stories and pictures. So many talented peeps here. Staff make it fun and exciting.
    thanx friends

1. How were you introduced to the Sims Game Family?
  • One of my friends at the time was always talking about her sims game and how much fun it was. I saw the play station version on sale for next to nothing so I got it (couldn’t afford the computer game at the time) and hated it. My friend invited me to join the sims site she was a part of I did to be polite thinking I wouldn’t stay around long (thus the name Flutterby…just fluttering through Embarassed )…but when I saw all the cool things you could create for the game I got really interested in it, after I got the computer version I started enjoying playing it.

2. How long have you played the Sims2, or games prior which lead up to the present?
  • I've been playing for a little over 5 years now. (Sept? 2008)

3. Which do you enjoy more, (Playing, Building, Creating, Writing)?
  • It really depends on my mood lol… I go through phases on which I enjoy more, though I didn’t start writing sims stories until I started playing the sims 3 this past month

4. Which is your Favorite Hood?
  • I never really got into playing the pre-made hoods, I usually create my own.

5. What is your Favorite Sims Character?
  • I don’t have one

6. Which is your Favorite Game Ep or Sp and why?
  • Pet's – I’ve always been an animal person and have always had pets (have even had wild “pets” before (that stayed outside of course). The game just didn’t seem right without them.

7. What is your average game play in a week (just a guess)?
  • It really depends on my mood, there are times I play it up to 8-9 hours a day…other times I don’t play it at all for months.

8. To really enjoy the game, which comp would you recommend best to play the game on?
  • I have a laptop and it plays the sims 2 with all EP’s and SP’s fine (I can even play the sims 3 on it). My desktop is an older computer and doesn’t handle sims well

9. How many peeps (family and/or friends), have you turned on to the Sims Games?
  • None that I know of

10. What part of the game do you not enjoy?
  • I tend to get a little frustrated when my sims take so long to do basic things, that and when they just stand there waving their arms when their needs get to low instead of just going to take care of those needs.

11. Have you ever lost your games/hoods/simmies, to the dreaded 'V'? If so how many times?
  • I’ve lost my games so many time for different reasons I can’t remember if that was one of them, I’m sure at least once

12. What did you learn from past experiences in your game play?
  • To Backup my games. Don’t let your sims have a baby every time they want to (especially with more sims for your lot, and triplet/quad mods) or you could end up with more kids than you can handle!!

13. What is it about this Forum (TSSF), that you like better than others you have been members of?
  • People are friendly here, I enjoy the stories and pictures (part of what got me into writing sim stories).

mickeywave Hi BBdoll!

This one got me thinking.

Love the picture that you shared, Flutterby. Nothing could be trurer!

So, here's the answers to the questions:

1. How were you introduced to the Sims Game Family?

By freinds. A friend and her daughter were playing (both a console and PC game) and I was watching and even played some. I guess they saw my interest as on my birthday, they game me the TS2 base game as a gift for my PC and I was off and running.

2. How long have you played the Sims 2, or games prior which lead up to the present?

Since shortly after it came out in 2008. I think that there may have been one of two EPs or SPs out, then. Most of my game (and I have all of the EPs and SPs) was given as a gift.

3. What do you enjoy more (Playing, Building, Creating, Writing)?

I like everything the variety is part of what makes the game so much fun. If I were to choose, then it would be between two things: Playing (I love the game play) and Creating Sims in CAS or Body Shop. Laughing I so like the latter that I have to limit the families I can save and put into my game or my game quickly becomes over-populated. Very Happy And, I think that the thing I like the best abvout creating Sims is giving them names along with seeing what the genetics of the kids are when I roll the pacifier. Smile I even have baby books of names and some online name sites to use as resources. whacky And, I've made a 3 ring binder notebook with both surnames and first name ideas. woo

4. What is your Favorite Hood?

That would be Desiderata Valley followed closely be Belladonna Cove. I also like to make my own neighborhoods and my current TS2 game has a custom neighborhood called the Isle of Caprice (that I use for my mini challenges). I used the Belladonna Cove template.

5. What is your Favorite Sims Character?

I like Jessica and Matthew Picaso--because of their names. I have a neice, Jessica and a nephew, Matthew. So, I put them into all of my neighborhoods (different houses and played a bit differently) and see how many and what types of kids they have. Without any help from me or cheesecake, they usually have, at least one set of twins. Then, I name them using the names of my nieces and nephews. extrahappy (And, no I haven't shared with my sisters and brothers that I'm using their kids names to name my Sim kids. Laughing )

6. What is your Favorite Game EP or SP and why?

It's a tie between FreeTime and Mansion & Garden Stuff. I love the hobby stuff like the Sewing Machine, Flower Bench and Toy Making Bench as well as the "huggle" interaction between toddlers, in the former. And, in the latter, I love all the new building materials such as the spiral staircase and new windows and doors as well as more options for outside landscaping.

7. What is your average game play in a week (just a guess)?

It varies depending on how busy I am and how well I feel. If my eyes are bad, then the time is less. And, I play more on the weekend. I can play up to 6 to 10 hours in a day. For the most part, I prefer it to watching TV.

8. To really enjoy the game, which comp would you recommend best to play the game on?

I like my PC since I can take it anywherer. My PC is older--2005 version and has Windows XP. It runs a bit slowly, so I'd recommend a computer with a more powererful processor which is likely found in all the newer computers, today.

9. How many peeps (family and/or friends) have you turned on to the Sims Game?

None. I've learned to be sparce in my TS2 game sharing unlesss someone already has the game. I do have some friends who ask general questions and I've learned to give them general answers. Otherwise, I get a blank stare. Most of the people that I share my TS2 game play with are fellow Simmers.

10. What part of the game do you not enjoy?

The loading screens. But, I've even learned to live with that--I just do things like a "potty" break or go for a snack while the screems are loading.

11. Have you ever lost your game/hoods/simmies to the dreaded "V"? If so how many times?

I'm assuming the dreaded "V" is virus. No. I'm extremely cautious about what I download and what sites I go on. I will not go on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.

I have lost a game due to "VBTs" or Very Bad Things (MTS has a list) before I knew what they were. Who would have thought that EA would put things into the game (such as the ability to put people in a house and then into the bin and then move them into a new neighborhood) that would ultimately cause a Major Crash of the game. That happened to me. It was about the time my PC needed to have it's OS restored. The computer guy who restored it said he could save the game but I chose to let it go since it was so corrupted. So, in February of 2011, I started over with everything--including all of my CC, patches, etc. Since then, I've been super cautious about what I do and what I download and, so far, it's working beautifully (i.e. no crashes).

12. What did you learn from past experiences in your game play?

Otherthan the cheat code "motherlode," I have two great "friends" in the game: First, the "P" or pause button---I think the space bar works for this as well. Second, the Exit without saving strategy to avoid losing children to the Social Worker and to help unstick "stuck" Sims. I had to laugh the last time this happened which was with an infant. When I returned after deleting the stuck NooBoo or infant, he was lying outside, at night, by the mailbox. His mother ran outside and picked him up and cuddled him. And, it sure sounded like she said, "Oh, poor Nooboo" in a soothing voice. scratch

13. What is it about the Forum (TSSF), that you like better than others you have been members of?

I have only been a member of 3 sites. Besides this one, I was a member of the official TS2 (but played for years before joining). I am also a member of MTS or ModTheSims which I use primarily for downloads. I like the friendliness on this site. I joined, here, during one of the infamous "down times" of the official TS2 site because I found Simmer freinds that I recognized from the the official site. I like the way this site keeps things clean and I like sharing my game play and seeing what other Simmers are doing and creating. I have to say a very Big Thank You to all the Simmers who create and share things that make my game play richer and more fun. thankyou

tnx4sharing Flutterby and Lilly! Seems like a lot to ask and answer, but it helped me to know each of you better. Great answers ladies. thankyou for taking the time to share with me. I enjoyed your pics of all your many bby's Flutterby. lol1 I will keep that in mind. I wish I had known that before, as it happened to me. I had a couple of bby's. One grew up and I moved her out to start her own life.

Then thought, I'll wait till the sister became a Teen, just close to becoming and adult and have another bby. Wow!!! I had Twins of all things. lol1 I hate having twins. After some suggestions how to manage them, my twins are now Teens. I can't believe it. No Usually the cps comes get them, or they die. After following the helpful tips from Lilly and Tasia I think it was, I was able to work my twins and go thru their stages of growing. extrahappy

@Lilly, I think I need to limit my sims that I create also. As well as my houses. lol1 My friend was hysterical at how many houses I had in my hood and no simmies to put in them. hysterical Then I created a bunch of peeps to put in them, forgetting they may have children and need to move out. lol1 You live and learn, huh? giggle

I'm impressed that you have binders with the names of all of your simmies names and relations. That is sooooo cool thankyou again ladies for taking the time to answer all my questions. I really enjoyed reading them.

Hi Bbdoll,
Wow, I love your questions. How very creative. Well done. Have a Rec point from me. bravo

It will be fun answering your questions , so I will get started now. basegame

1. How were you introduced to the Sims Game Family?

It had just turned the year 2000. We all survived Y2K. scaredy That was also the year we got our first computer. And the internet. I wanted nothing to do with the computer or the internet. I thought it was stupid and I had other things to do. My better half was most upset that I would not take a interest in the computer. He wanted me to be ready and computer literate for when the kids get into school. nerd He then had a bright idea newidea Send me to the store with my sister to try and find some video games to play on the computer to help get me started. I grudgingly, went to Costco to look for computer games.
I will never forget, the first thing I found was a game called The Sims. It was in the discount pile. 2 games for $30.00. I looked at the back, read it. It sounded neat to be able to build a house and a family to live in it. I showed it to my sis, she had never heard of it before. Neither had I. It looked interesting, so I tossed it in the cart. We also got some other game. I really have no idea what it was.
We get back to my place and proceed to install The Sims. Once the game was installed we were not sure what to do or how to play the game . We were on the Newbie family. The moment we figured out how to use the mouse to control the sim we looked at each other with a shocked look on our face. It was incredible, of course the first thing we did was make Bob Newbie use the toilet and take a shower then on to the kitchen. I have been hopelessly hooked on the Sims ever since.

2. How long have you played the Sims2, or games prior which lead up to the present?
buggout 13yrs. buggout
3. Which do you enjoy more, (Playing, Building, Creating, Writing)?

I have gone in stages. Starting with all play until 2006. Then I started to want to write more when I noticed the stories section on the famouse Ts2.com. {R.I.P}

4. Which is your Favorite Hood?

Pleasantville, Belladonna Cove, Twikii Island,

5. What is your Favorite Sims Character?

My simself of course. She has so much more money than me. Beach house. the works. Yeah, I like to treat myself... star2 But I also like Brandy Broke.. Razz The Goth Family and some rich guy that comes with Open for Buisiness.

6. Which is your Favorite Game Ep or Sp and why?

For the Original Sims, I would have to say Hot Date was my favorite Ep.This gave us a Downtown and a whole new world was opened up in the sims. I miss many of the interactions that are not available in Ts2 or 3.
You might have noticed I can never have just one favorite... smile... Eps I cannot live without for Ts2 are, Seasons, Downtown,Open for Business and Bon Voyage.
For Ts3 , I would say Ambitions is my favorite because you get to have a motor cycle and my favorite sim guy looks great on it.

7. What is your average game play in a week (just a guess)?

I used to be a real gamer hog around 6 hrs a day. I played late most nights. Yikes, I refuse to do the math.lol

8. To really enjoy the game, which comp would you recommend best to play the game on?

My desktop is my best gamer. I can always add more memory or update drivers ect, ect. But with a lap top you cannot do that.

9. How many peeps (family and/or friends), have you turned on to the Sims Games?

About the same as you.

10. What part of the game do you not enjoy?

The load time. And the time it takes to get to a lot. Or back to neighborhood. My first computer with The Original Sims took so long to load with just a little bit of CC, that I could go out and load the Dish washer before the game finally got to neighborhood. This is Original Sims I am speaking of.

11. Have you ever lost your games/hoods/simmies, to the dreaded 'V'? If so how many times?

Yes, more times than I care to remember. I have managed to keep a few of my favorite sims over the years.
The loss became more painful once I learned that I could use the sims game as a way to write stories with pictures.

12. What did you learn from past experiences in your game play?

Save often.Test every single bit of Custom Content that you put into your game. If anything is not right, uninstall it. I keep a file of all my tested and true cc. So if I do crash takeoff and have to reinstall all of my games I can get all my favorite stuff back right away.

13. What is it about this Forum (TSSF), that you like better than others you have been members of?

I like this forum best because it is full of true gamers. People who play the Sims and enjoy the game. I believe the game was set up to be just what the name implies, A simulation of life. A chance to kinda live out some dreams that we might not be able to really do in real life. The Sims is a great game and I really enjoy having a nice site like this to chat and interact with other Simmer's.

wowspring wowspring Thanks so much ladies for your feedback. I really enjoyed reading them. Tasia, you have me rolling lol so hard as to how you found your game. I was about the same also, only I got a great deal on my DD. $9 and $5 for the regular base. Got those for Xmas gifts. giggle When my daughter and I were comparing notes, come to find out the DD was better than the reg base game cause there were some things I could do and she could not do in the reg game. Went and bought her the DD. Only 1 was left. This store was going out of business and had all of their games 'Cheap'. I should have bought all the Ep's and Sp's they had left, but I didn't know it was gonna be so great. By the time I went back, they were all gone. sad

Great suggestions for #12 also ladies. Thanks! goodpost I really enjoyed reading them all. Thanks for the Rep also! cheers friends

1. How were you introduced to the Sims Game Family?

My aunt's sister in law had a burnt CD of the sims 2 and lent it to her and that is how I was introduced to it. At first I didn't have a clue how to play, which ended up me killing my pregnant simself by accident Embarassed but eventually I got the hang of it. Despite that I didn't need the CD to play to play the game, I couldn't build any house nor make adjustments which was a set back since I wanted to expand my family. The game eventually crashed and I was more than glad to buy the original when I got the chance.

2. How long have you played the Sims2, or games prior which lead up to the present?

I have been playing the game since I was 11, around April or May in 2005.

3. Which do you enjoy more, (Playing, Building, Creating, Writing)?

I enjoy playing the most out of all, and writing and building comes second.

4. Which is your Favorite Hood?

Strangetown, because I find the aliens very interesting.

5. What is your Favorite Sims Character?

Johnny Smith, Lilith Pleasant and the Broke family.

6. Which is your Favorite Game Ep or Sp and why?

Before it would be University because the sims had extra life (though it takes verrrrry long for them to graduate) and I loved the concept of the sims going to school and having interactions regarding topics and school books and stuff but now I grew to love the Open for Business since I started the Build a City Challenge because they earn their own money and loads of it without me having to use cheats and I learned new things from it as well.

7. What is your average game play in a week (just a guess)?

Before I started college, I would play during the weekends for the whole day or any chance I got after school but now I would say 4-6 hours when I get the chance which I don't get much.

8. To really enjoy the game, which comp would you recommend best to play the game on?

PC would be better even though I like playing on my laptop.

9. How many peeps (family and/or friends), have you turned on to the Sims Games?

Only my friend from school, wasn't successful with anyone else.

10. What part of the game do you not enjoy?

Sims kicking trash cans, roaches, not seeing the sims actually drive to their destination in sims 2 and chemistry bolts (though I like the fact of my sims finding their true soulmate, it's hard to find that same 3 bolt for the others and the couple I really want to pair up sometimes have no attraction to the other and I tend to follow with making my sims happy most of the times).

11. Have you ever lost your games/hoods/simmies, to the dreaded 'V'? If so how many times?

Haven't lost my games to the virus but I have had to reinstall plenty of times because of too much CC content.

12. What did you learn from past experiences in your game play?

Save completed houses or special events in case battery in laptop dies and have backups of your neighbourhoods in case of crashing.

13. What is it about this Forum (TSSF), that you like better than others you have been members of?

The people here are very friendly which makes me come out of my shell more since I am very quiet.

Thanks for taking the time to share, Sarah and Lisa. I enjoyed reading all responses. @Sarah, I found a remedy for avoiding the TC issue. I do the ‘moveobjects on’ to move my ‘trash can’, and then I put a fence around it with a gate and lock it, that’s if I don’t have a fence around my house. Sometimes, someone in the family usually kicks over the trash can, so I lock the gate and leave it accessible to a specific sim. Only my chosen sim and the maid/butler can access. Very Happy (see pic below).

I've had a few sims that had the 3-bolts and they drove me bonkers.. And don't let them have bby's. No They seem to flat ignore their duties as parents, because they are always wanting to Leap in each others arms. scaredy Just crazy! whacky
Lilly has posted the Zodiac-Signs for her Sims. Check it out link below.

I enjoyed playing the Aliens also. And that one (male) that had the bby. That was a trip.

@Lisa, seems you are a Newbe to the game as well. Looking forward to you stories. I'm always learning something new from the Pros on here.

1. How were you introduced to the Sims Game Family?
my parents brought The Sims 2 game for my psp and I begged for the pc version because it's bigger.
2. How long have you played the Sims2, or games prior which lead up to the present?
I got it in 2007, so 8 years!
3. Which do you enjoy more, (Playing, Building, Creating, Writing)?
I enjoy playing and creating--- I love to create sims.
4. Which is your Favorite Hood?
I like Strangetown because it's a mystery to what happened to certain sims. however lately I've been more into Pleasantview.

5. What is your Favorite Sims Character?
I like Johnny smith, Pascal Curious, Angela Pleasant, Jenny Smith, Jill smith, and Romeo and julliet
6. Which is your Favorite Game Ep or Sp and why?
my favorite Ep is Seasons because it brings the game alive with weather that we experience. My Favorite Sp which is currently uninstalled is Family Fun Stuff because it has good objects for sims with Families and Children. However Another Favorite Sp is Celebrations because of the great objects used to throw weddings!
7. What is your average game play in a week (just a guess)?
lately it's been about 2 hours per week--- but more during each day.
8. To really enjoy the game, which comp would you recommend best to play the game on?
I play on a laptop and I love it!!!
9. How many peeps (family and/or friends), have you turned on to the Sims Games?
1- I gave Sims 2 Double Deluxe to my best friend when I found out I had to get celebration stuff separately, so once I got celebrations that game was hers.
10. What part of the game do you not enjoy?
the loading time and when it makes glitches.... lol
11. Have you ever lost your games/hoods/simmies, to the dreaded 'V'? If so how many times?
Nope always been careful --- although had to reinstall because of missing neighborhoods once.
12. What did you learn from past experiences in your game play?
Always back up your game and be careful what you download!
13. What is it about this Forum (TSSF), that you like better than others you have been members of?
the other members of this forum are so nice, helpful, and respectful. I also like how you can check out other members creations without necessarily being on their simpage.
