[solved]Something's wrong. Weh

I did the game update and now I can't get on to the Ermahgerd's D;
It loads a little into their family and then it says Windows has to close it.
I went into another game I have open. No family, just a town, and it worked just fine.
Does anyone know how to fix this, or do I have to say goodbye to my Ermahgerd's?!

Where are they?

Hey Katee, sorry for the late reply - had to go to work. The folder they are in is Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3. Delete all files that look like pieces of paper with the word Cache on the end of it. I took a another screenshot of what mine looks like. Note that it doesn't matter if your Sims 3 folder doesn't have all the Cache files shown; just delete the ones you have.

Another thing to keep in mind that when you add new cc to your game, you will probably need to delete those Cache files in order for your new cc to show up in the game.

Oh Cinda! You must've been posting as I was adding to. Looking at what you have posted compared to mine, Katlee may need to 'Ignore' my posting, as it's what you sent me for my Sims 2, huh?

Just click on the little "x" to delete your post. I know these buttons are a little different then the ones we had. If you're not sure of what a unidentified button may be, just hover your cursor over the button and it should display what it is.

Unfortunately, deleting the .cache files didn't work D;

Just remembered something else.
I went to play on Tuesday night and I was playing in bed. I went out to get my dinner and stupidly left my laptop on my bed where it over-heated and shut down. I was playing the Ermahgerd's and luckily I'd pretty much only just opened them so nothing happened, really.
Could that be why this is happening?
I haven't backed them up, because I'm so silly :c

I'm pretty sure it says "Something went wrong. Windows needs to close the program."
I tried to make another world, but it did the same thing. The other town still works though. Its a world that I downloaded

Oh wow. Not sure what the problem could be. Have you got the latest graphic drivers for your laptop. Also check the solution center (the little flag on your taskbar) to see if it lists the problem for the Sims 3; it will usually post a solution to the problem.

I forgot to take CC out before updating... could this be why?

It never does this after updating and I've never taken CC out to update before :/

Wow! That's great! Do you know how it got fixed or what happened?

I think it might have been that I updated without taking my cc out.
I changed the name of my Sims 3 folder to Sims 3 backup and then loaded the game and then moved everything into the new Sims 3 folder and deleted the backup folder
