| Subject: The Sims 4 To Run Better On Low-End Machines Than Sims 3, Says Maxis Fri Aug 23, 2013 7:37 pm | |
| The Sims 4 will run better on lower end machines than The Sims 3, Maxis has said.
Rebuilt from the ground up, the life simulation sequel will offer a "stylised reality" with more detail and smoother animations, but also runs better "regardless of the spec of the machine".
"We're really excited to say that players on lower end machines are going to have a much better experience on The Sims 4 than they did with The Sims 3," producer Ryan Vaughn told Digital Spy.
He added: "We know that our players have a wide range of different PC specs. We want to make sure that somebody playing on a lower end machine has just as great an experience as somebody on a higher end machine.
"Right now we're doing a lot of work to optimise the game's performance, cut down on loading screens, and make sure everything still looks as beautiful, the Sims feel as vibrant, and that your gameplay is just as much fun regardless of what spec you're playing on."
The Sims 4 is designed to be the most lifelike installment yet, introducing emotional states, multitasking and group conversations.
Meanwhile, the creation tools will be far more tactile, with direct manipulation of Sims' physical features, and house building moving to a block-based system.
Vaughn said players can fully decide whether they opt in or out of online sharing.
The Sims 4 will be available on PC and Mac in 2014. | |
