| I have several Beach Lots that I've created, and I have saved them to my file. Other lots I have no problem with placing them on other vacant lots, but for some reason my Beach Lots I can not place them on a Beach area. Is there something I need to do?
I have read that once a beach lot is created, it can't be moved, but I thought I would be able to place it on a beach if I saved my lot to a file, then install so I could load into my game to use in all my cities that have beaches.
Can someone tell me what I need to do in order for my Beach creations to work in my other cities? Thanks... | |

| I'm not an expert by any means, so if anyone else wants to respond as well, please do so. You may be able to do a better job of helping. Beach lots are tricky because they will only fit in certain neighborhoods and then in certain places on the beach front property. I did download one beach lot and could only place in in two neighborhoods: Belladonna Cove and in the Bluewater Village Shopping District (OFB so you can add it to any neighborhood). It wouldn't fit in Desiderata Valley--no matter where I tried to put it. Which brings me to another point, the beach lot may not fit everywhere along the beach front, so I just try it all along until I find a place where if fits (if there is one). I haven't tried all the templates. And, of course neighborhoods like Veronaville and Riverblossom Hills, etc. don't have beach front property so beach front lots can't be placed there. I put the beach lots I create in the "Lots & Houses" bin and the ones I download go there automatically, so that is where I take them from to place them into my game. Hope this helps a little. And, Happy Simming and Happy Creating! Lilly | |

| I agree with Liilly - they only fit in certain neighborhoods. It is my conclusion that beach lots only fit in the hood where they were created. I downloaded some beach houses around the time BV come out and the only place they would fit was Bluewater, nowhere else.

| it's been my experience that when placing a beach lot is 1.) they are very tricky to place, you usually have to make sure that at least half of the lot if not more is in the water 2.) if you have a custom lot that you've downloaded go to the "hood" and and find a place where you can do so if you don't immediately find a place then you move it down the road until it turns green, then it will terraform (reconcile the edges)the spot in which you placed it. I've personally used this particular trick several times without too much trouble. spots i've placed them were the above mentioned hoods, plus Twikiki island, Takemizu village, 3 lakes and pretty much any hood that has water adjoining a road. so remember... don't give up just keep dragging it down the road until it fits
hope that helps, and happy simming ^_^

| Thanks everyone for the info. It's very helpful. Ka'ge, I will try ur suggestion. After posting my question, I went back 2 my game, created a Hood that I loaded from TSR, and found some of my lots 2 be loaded with no problem. , so I'm happy I was able to do that. My only question is now, do you think I should share them with everyone here? Some may not want to go thru the hassle of looking for a spot to place them. | |

| well if you really want to you should, personally speaking if I can't place a beach lot anywhere I'll recreate it from snapshots if they have a floor plan that comes with it |

| Hi BBdoll. Yes, go ahead and share them. I can usually place most beach lots in Bluewater Village. I might suggest that you share which neighborhood or neighborhood template that you used to build the lot. That might be helpful to the Simmers downloading. Happy Simming! Lilly | |

| Thanks Lilly. That's a great idea. I was thinking about doing that. What I need 2 do is first learn how to load stuff and then plan what I want to share an how to prepare it for everyone. I'm just so excited I want to get it out there for everyone. I appreaciate all of the advice and help. | |
